Has anyone used Align for Irritable bowel syndrome?
Hi, I was looking up relief for ibs, and saw that Align helps many things and diarrhea, with IBS. Has anyone used it and did it work? i need it specifically for diarrhea, and sometimes bloating/gas. Thanks for your help!
Mitzy, I have not myself but I am going to try and find some tomorrow. I am desperate for answers for my IBS, bowel problems. I have seen nothing but good reviews. I have nothing to lose….
Hope for the best.
No mate, sorry but i’ve never used Align……Is it possible that you have Coeliac disease ?? It is an inability to digest the grains barley, oats, wheat and rye due to a sensitivity to gluten which is a compound found in those grains….Mouth ulcers and dermatitis around the corners of the mouth are common in Coeliac disease………… alternating bouts of diarrohea and constipation, bloating and gas are also common symptoms.
Get yourself off to a fully qualified Naturopath or nutritionally oriented physician so that you can be fully assessed.
The gluten damages the cells lining the small intestine, and the mucosal surface becomes flat, losing the normal folds known as villi. These damaged mucosal cells are unable to absorb nutrients from the food and severe nutritional deficiencies eventually occur.
Coeliac disease is often hereditary. The disease can begin at any age and in children, it appears after weaning them onto gluten containing foods. In adults it usually begins in the third and fourth decade, and its more common in females.
The symptoms are usually very gradual in onset and may start with only fatigue. Common intestinal symptoms include abdominal discomfort, bloating, diarrhoea and weight loss. There is difficulty in absorbing fat from the food. This makes the bowel actions large, pale and fatty so that they tend to float on top of the water and are difficult to flush down the toilet.
food intolerances and vitamin deficiencies can have a vast array of side affects on our health and vitality.
Try not eating barley, oats, wheat or rye for 2 or 3 days and instead eat brown rice or quinoa (pronounced keen-wah) …….. organic though to avoid the nasty sulfites and other chemicals they use to "preserve" the commercial varieties that will upset sensitive bodies……… if you are intolerant to the wheat etc… and ditch it for 3 days you won’t believe the difference in your moods, energy levels, elimination patterns ……. try it mate…. you’ve only got your health and vitality to gain.
Also, if you are lactose intolerant or vegetarian then it is really important that you supplement your diet with a multi B complex tablet on a daily basis.
Take a multi B complex tablet including all the B’s ie: B1, B2 B3, B5, B6 and B12 as they work best synergistically (together)……. do not take any of the B complex of vitamins individually, but rather as a whole complex, unless specifically instructed to by a nutritionally oriented physician or naturopath….. a liquid complex would be the easiest for your body to assimilate.
The B complex of vitamins is essential for healthy neural, digestive and immune system functioning and will help you deal with the everyday stress we are all exposed to at some level or another.
Things that will rob you of your precious B complex of vitamins are :- stress, eating too much protein, frozen foods, alcohol, eating too much tinned food, laxatives and diuretics, the oral contraceptive and eostrogen supplementation, antiobiotics, antidepressants, penicillin, prednisone and aspirin, otc cold and flu medicines.
Also, try to cut back on drinks such as caffeine, tea, sodas and soft drinks as they are all B complex thieves…….. as well as being great at dehydrating you.
Drink loads more fresh filtered water too as the healthiest and happiest body will always be the most hydrated one.
take care of you
peace baby

I can align the abdominal muscles and can cure all the troubles as you or any body is suffering from as long.
I am 69 with IBS since age 18. Only recently have I been taught about the importance of keeping up the highest level I can of probiotics to help keep high levels of good bacteria going in my gut. I am using Align along with a couple of others. Align is supposed to be very effective according to my doctors and seems to be really helping. I take 2 a day. I am also, finally, getting my fiber levels up to a healthy level–Fiber One cereal gives a bit over 50% of needed daily fiber in just one serving. Wish I had made these changes years ago. Exercise, regular and gentle, helps, too. Good luck, don’t give up. Living with active IBS is really miserable!
I have been taking Align for over 2 years now for IBS. What I can tell you is that if I stop taking it I get diarrhea, and if I go back on it, it goes away. I generally have constipation issues but, it has helped me to be a little less constipated and my GI doctor said this is the best probiotic out there right now. Good luck.
