How do I fix this stomach pain during running at Track?
Second year doing track, and I always have this painful cramp(?) or rather pain in the stomach that slows me down tremendously. It’s not always immediate, I got through the warmup fine and it hits hard after when I do a 20 minute run. I have no idea how to fix this. Rather than always as I said, it only happens sometimes. I haven’t picked out a pattern in the occurrences, and would be glad to receive some help. Thank you.
You get cramps because of lactic acid that builds up in the body. Lactic acid builds up when the body has to do physical activity and the muscles are not receiving oxygen. To get rid of the cramp breath in and out about 5 times, and it should go away. Its easier to prevent than to cure cramps, and i suggest you just remember to breathe.
Adding on to what the person above me said…Drink lots of water!
Before, during, and after! Number one cure for cramps!
