IBS Irritable Bowel Syndrome – Part 1 – Nutrition by Natalie

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or spastic colon is a functional bowel disorder characterized by abdominal pain and changes in bowel habits which are more… not associated with any abnormalities seen on routine clinical testing. It is fairly common and makes up 20–50% of visits to gastroenterologists. Lower abdominal pain, and bloating associated with alteration of bowel habits and abdominal discomfort relieved with defecation are the most frequent symptoms. IBS is highly prevalent in the Western world, but despite the advancement of many theories, no clear cause has yet been established. Stress—feeling mentally or emotionally tense, troubled, angry, or overwhelmed—may trigger symptoms in people with IBS. One study found that women with IBS are more likely to report prior physical or sexual abuse; almost half of the patients reported prior abuse. IBS is not fatal nor is it linked to the development of other serious bowel diseases. However, due to the chronic pain, discomfort, and other symptoms, work absenteeism, social phobias, and other negative quality-of-life effects can be common in more serious cases. Individuals who find a caring primary caregiver and/or sufficient self-help options should be able to develop a successful treatment program for their symptoms and lead normal lives. www.nutritionbynatalie.com http www.youtube.com

@kristinjardim Definitely does. Everytime I date someone, I have to tell them about how much it effects me, and some break up with me for it.

  • SuperGonggong says:

@IndustrialKitt3n ummm ok honeybuns HOCKEY is my life ok? I mean it means more to me than anything else, whenever I am feeling down I just watch some good old hockey and with my u.c. I was sick for over a year and I was so close to actually killing myself, especially since I was on high dose of Prednizone, when Sidney crosby and kory perry scored those goals to win the gold medals I instantly felt better then than in my whole life. So what does hockey mean to me? Please respond to this.

  • IndustrialKitt3n says:

@SuperGonggong What the hell are you fucking talking about? All I said was that I Agree with you, I turned down alot of things about my life too, like school, college, and I don’t have a job..
And you’re going on about what Hockey means to you?
Where the hell did this come from?
    What the fuck?
I was agreeing with you, not insulting you.
    Damn.
No one asked you what hockey meant to you.. Holy hell.

  • SuperGonggong says:

@IndustrialKitt3n you seriously dont understand english kid, you sounded as if hockey was nothing that it was a lot worse for you, if you cant understand that im not you and I misinterpret a brief comment then I dont know, and then you cuss like a 5 year old. I dont want to start a shitwar over this because stress is the last thing I need. READ WHAT YOU SAID.

  • IndustrialKitt3n says:

    @SuperGonggong OH MY GOD.
When the hell did I say Hockey is nothing?
I wasn’t saying “Oh, hockey is nothing, I missed school and work, and can’t go to college”
I was AGREEING WITH YOU THAT IT MAKES YOU turn down the things that mean alot to you and even things that are necessary. It changes your life. It effects daily activities that should be enjoyed, things that normal people love.
I was not trying to “battle” your IBS and say mine was worse. I was stating how it changed my life, too. damn.

  • IndustrialKitt3n says:

@SuperGonggong I’m not going to try to have a worse “ibs” problem than you. That’s freaking stupid. I NEVER comment on people negatively unless they do it to me first. YOU misinterpreted what I wrote. NOT MY FAULT.

  • IndustrialKitt3n says:

    @sesamestreetsquad Well of course….

  • SuperGonggong says:

@IndustrialKitt3n you reallly must not kow english…

  • IndustrialKitt3n says:

@SuperGonggong Must not kow English. Good lord, get the fuck over yourself.

  • IndustrialKitt3n says:

@SuperGonggong I don’t “kow” English? You don’t fucking know how to punctuate anything you say. You don’t put periods at the end of sentences. You keep putting commas. Run on sentences. Grow up and stop trying to insult people by telling them that they don’t know “English”. How childish. I obviously do if I’m speaking it right now, idiot.

  • SuperGonggong says:

  • SuperGonggong says:

@pisshole16 it really doesnt have much to do with dieting.

  • IndustrialKitt3n says:

@SuperGonggong OoOoO you’re the toughest guy on the web? I THOUGHT YOU WERE A FEMALE. This is even WORSE. Now a guy is fighting a GIRL. How PATHETIC. IF errors don’t matter on youtube, then why did you tell me I can’t speak English? I mean really.. Anyway, no. The way I said my comment on your comment in the beginning was that I was feeling sympathy for you, and I was stating what it did to me ALSO so that people could see what it can do, how it can change your life, how it can effect your life.

  • IndustrialKitt3n says:

@SuperGonggong I never said “I agree, mine does, too”. I DON’T WANT my IBS to be WORSE than anyone elses. that is the stupidest thing ever. I’m trying to make your loss seem like nothing? okay, keep telling yourself that. Sorry, Im not one of those people that look for attention by saying that my problems are “worse”. I don’t want to be worse off, wtf? Why would I Want that? I WAS AGREEING WITH YOU AND SUPPORTING YOUR ANSWER, BUT WHATEVER, BE AN ASSHOLE.

  • IndustrialKitt3n says:

@IndustrialKitt3n Anyway, I will just be apologizing. I am sorry that you thought that I Was trying to seem “worse off” than you. I Truly wasn’t. that’s not the person I am. I suffer from depression and have alot of problems, so I am really sorry If I offended you. I don’t have the energy to fight you. So, you win.

  • SuperGonggong says:

@IndustrialKitt3n Gonggong means grandpa, super gonggong, and how can u miss college? You can just take it out, thats what I would of done, and I said that I dont want to make things worse by arguing I never said one of are conditions was worse, and as far as it goes Im never going to see you or anyone else personally so yeah boy or girl get raped by ibs,

  • IndustrialKitt3n says:

@SuperGonggong I can’t go to the testing at my school to take the ACT, which would get me into College, bc I am always sick. IF I did take it though, and got into college, I’d miss alot of class. :(

  • IndustrialKitt3n says:

@SuperGonggong I’m supposed to be going see a movie right now, my favorite movie ever, a part of the Twilight Saga, and I can’t bc I’m sick. great. So now I have to just sit here all day. :(

  • SuperGonggong says:

@IndustrialKitt3n uhhhh ok? well if were done fighting, im on immuran and 1 other drug, but the only thing that affects me big time is burgur king, nothing else seems to bother me.

I know that in parasitology many farm animals & pets will get protozoan parasites like coccidiosis, giardiasis, cryptosporidium, etc. and this will give GI symptoms, but it mainly “flares up” during times of stress. It is opportunistic (meaning that it takes advantage of stress in the body while the immunity is low). Look this all up. Ibs is just a general term that dr’s slap over the real problems like parasites. I say this from my own observations/studies with animals.

  • Alina674 says:

We giveparasites a wonderful home in our gi tract. A lovely habitat for them. Everything they could ask for and more.

We don’t deworm ourselves like we do to the animals, we eat fake food (fast food, junk), & we do have a large population. In animals they contract these problems mainly because of cramped quarters which leads to unsanitary space. We get very close to our animals & some people actually kiss their mouth! They can contract so much from them! Some parasites are zoonotic!!

  • Alina674 says:

eating well eliminates a lot of problems:

*it boosts your body to be the best it can be as a whole
*it makes for a less inhabitable place for foreign invaders like parasites (they love sugary foods)

I think that if americans knew they had parasites they would go crazy so they tell us to eat right so we don’t freak out. I think there’s more to it. A Syndrome is basically a word we use 4 something that can’t be determined as a disease-syndromes are based on signs/symptoms, not actual tests!!!

  • nomickok2 says:

thumbs up if you saw lady killers

  • OMGDONTCALLMEFAT says:

IBS has nothing to do with parasites.

  • vegasoad says:

i just hate the weird noises that come along with IBS -_-
