What might cause pressure and bloating in the abdomen without appetite loss?
I am 36, have had my tubes tied for 13 years now, and have regular periods so I know it’s not pregnancy. For about the past couple of months I’ve been experiencing abdominal bloating with some pressure and occasional gas. My appetites been great, and I don’t feel nausea with it. It’s not pms because I’m still about 2 weeks away from my cycle. I wonder if it could be digestive upset. Any possible ideas?

Definitely sounds GI tract related. The gas itself could be the entire cause of bloat (yes we can produce that much trapped gas).
It could be some slow peristalsis (ie: constipation) or even potentially blocked digestive tract.. ie: Fecal impaction. If you’ve been having regular bowel movements it probably isn’t this, but if it has been a while since your last.. consider at minimum constipation and GI upset. You aren’t likely to have a true dangerous impaction out of the blue without some big time pain associated — but a slowed down digestive tract with accompanying gas would definitely cause the bloat.
Try to add some fiber to the diet and pro-biotics (yogurt will do fine). You can do anything from eating a few bowls of oatmeal a day, to buying some metamucil and taking it for the next few days.
The probiotics would be to help regulate the active *useful* bacteria in the tract.
Be sure to stay sufficiently hydrated as well.
Good luck,
